DMCA & Copyright Policy
Ideosave respects intellectual-property rights and responds expeditiously to properly filed copyright notices. This page explains what we need from a valid notice, how we handle counter-notifications, and how repeat-infringer reports work.
Copyright notifications and counter-notifications should be sent by email to dmca@ideosave.com. For the fastest response, include all required elements listed below and use a descriptive subject line beginning with DMCA Notice: or DMCA Counter-Notice: as appropriate.
1. What Ideosave does (and does not) do
Ideosave operates a search-and-surface tool: it fetches publicly available HTML metadata from third-party platforms at the user's request and extracts direct media links when those links are present in the public page structure. Ideosave does not upload, store, re-host, re-encode, or curate a library of video files. User requests are ephemeral, stateless, and processed on demand. Because Ideosave does not itself host the underlying video content, a complete takedown usually also requires contacting the platform that originally hosts the content (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Vimeo, Xiaohongshu, etc.) using their own copyright-reporting flows.
2. Required elements of a valid DMCA takedown notice
To be valid, your notice must substantially include all of the following (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) and equivalents where applicable):
- Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Work identification: Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or (if multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notice) a representative list of such works.
- Infringing material: Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, with information reasonably sufficient to permit Ideosave to locate it. At a minimum, include the exact URL the user would paste into Ideosave (e.g. a Facebook or TikTok post URL), and the specific job token or result page URL if you have one.
- Contact info: Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- Good-faith statement: A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy statement: A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Note: Misrepresentations in a DMCA notice may expose the sender to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) or equivalent local law. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, consider consulting a qualified attorney first.
3. How we respond to valid notices
Upon receipt of a complete and facially valid notice, Ideosave will:
- Acknowledge receipt in reasonable time (typically within 1–2 business days).
- Act expeditiously to disable or block access to the specifically identified material within Ideosave's control (for example, by refusing to serve result tokens that match the identified URL pattern).
- Attempt, where reasonably practical, to notify the user who submitted the affected URL(s) that access has been disabled.
- Forward a copy of the notice to any upstream platform where the content is hosted, where appropriate and publicly documented by that platform.
- Keep an internal record of the notice for repeat-infringer tracking.
4. Counter-notification procedure
If you believe material you submitted or downloaded was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification. To be valid, a counter-notice must include all of the following elements (17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3)):
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access was disabled (e.g. the specific source URL and, if applicable, the Ideosave job token).
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if you reside outside the United States, any judicial district in which Ideosave may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original DMCA notice or their agent.
If Ideosave receives a valid counter-notice, we will promptly provide a copy to the person who filed the original notice. If no action for a court order is filed by the original complaining party within 10–14 business days, Ideosave may, in its discretion, restore access to the disabled material.
5. Repeat infringers
Ideosave maintains a record of repeated DMCA violations originating from the same user, IP address, or identifiable submitter. Where we have a good-faith belief that a user is repeatedly submitting material that infringes the rights of others, we will take appropriate action, which may include disabling future job submissions from that identifier, blocking IP ranges, and, where warranted, referring the matter to law enforcement or upstream platforms.
6. Platform-level reporting
Because Ideosave is only a search/surface tool and does not host the content itself, we strongly recommend that rights holders also report infringing content directly to the host platform. Below are the copyright-reporting pages of the platforms Ideosave currently indexes:
- Facebook Report Copyright Infringement
- Instagram Report Copyright
- TikTok Copyright Policy
- Vimeo DMCA / Copyright
7. Non-DMCA jurisdictions
If you are located in a jurisdiction that does not apply the United States DMCA (for example, the European Union with its DSM Directive, or jurisdictions following the notice-and-action models of the UK, Canada, Australia, etc.), you may still send a notice to dmca@ideosave.com. Include the same factual information listed in Section 2 above (identification of the work, the specific infringing URL, your authority to act, contact details, and your good-faith statement). We will process your notice consistently with the requirements of applicable local law and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Questions?
If you have any question about this policy or whether a specific notice qualifies, email dmca@ideosave.com or reach out from the Contact page.
